Position: Cardio/Weight Room Attendant – City of Ottawa (Part-Time)
The City of Ottawa invites applications for Part-Time Cardio/Weight Room Attendants to oversee and assist customers at City fitness facilities. This role ensures the safe and effective use of cardio and weight equipment, promotes a positive customer experience, and supports the operations of recreational facilities. Multiple part-time permanent positions are available with flexible shifts.
Responsibilities:

Monitor and assist patrons using cardio and weight room equipment

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and facility policies

Provide customer service and guidance to facility users

Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and fitness areas

Demonstrate proper use of exercise equipment and safe exercise practices

Perform cash handling as required (training provided)

Support team and contribute to a welcoming and inclusive environment
Education and Experience:

Completion of Grade 10

Minimum of 1 year of experience providing service to the public in a recreational facility
Certifications and Licences:

Current Standard First Aid, CPR, and/or AED certificates

AODA Customer Service/IASR Training
Knowledge:

Working knowledge of department facilities, programs, and policies

Knowledge of fitness programs, equipment, and safe exercise practices

Understanding of health and safety legislation and worker rights/duties

Asset: familiarity with corporate computer software
