Holland America/Princess (HAP) Alaska-Yukon Land Operations is seeking full-time Seasonal Baristas for the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge. Located in Trapper Creek, this lodge offers some of the most spectacular views of Denali and serves as a major hub for cruisetour guests.
This role is part of a high-standard “Service Excellence” team. It is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment and is looking to trade a standard summer for an Alaskan adventure with elite travel perks.
Key Responsibilities & Daily Tasks
Beverage Craft & Guest Interaction

Expert Knowledge: Maintain thorough knowledge of all coffee beverages offered and make professional recommendations to guests.

Professional Presence: Greet and welcome guests to the venue while maintaining a neat, professional appearance.

Financial Accuracy: Efficiently operate a computerized Point of Sale (POS) system, handling cash, making change, and processing credit cards accurately.
Operations & Maintenance

Workflow Management: Work closely with the F&B leadership team to ensure coffee sales and service run smoothly.

Workspace Upkeep: Organize and set up the workspace before, during, and after shifts, including cleaning, sanitizing, and stocking.

Compliance: Follow all state and local laws, company policies, and high standards of sanitation in all storage and work spaces.

Holland America and Princess Cruises (HAP) unite as Alaska-Yukon Land Operations to manage premier destinations like the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge in Trapper Creek. This location is a major hub for travelers visiting Denali State Park, offering stunning views of Denali. Working here involves joining a massive seasonal team (May–September) that provides “Heart of the House” support and high-end guest experiences in a remote, high-energy wilderness setting.
Typical Roles & Responsibilities:

Food & Beverage: Roles include Line Cooks, Prep Cooks, Servers, and Dishwashers. Responsibilities involve preparing Alaska-inspired dishes, managing high-volume dining rushes, and maintaining strict sanitation (HACCP) standards in a fast-paced kitchen.

Guest Services & Front Office: Front Desk Agents and Night Auditors act as the primary contact for guests, managing check-ins, local excursion bookings (like glacier flights), and resolving guest concerns with “Service Excellence.”

Rooms Division: Housekeeping and Public Area Attendants ensure the lodge and guest rooms are maintained to luxury standards, managing laundry operations and high-turnover days.

Facilities & Logistics: Groundskeepers, Warehouse Clerks, and Maintenance Technicians manage the sprawling property, coordinate food and beverage deliveries, and ensure all systems are operational in a remote environment.

Transportation: Driver-Guides and Luggage Handlers coordinate the arrival and departure of guests via motorcoach and rail, ensuring safe and timely transit.
Qualifications:

Availability: Ability to commit to the full summer season; shifts often involve long hours and 5–6 day work weeks during peak tourism months.
