Job Overview: Barista – Denali Park Village (Aramark)

Aramark is seeking full-time, seasonal Baristas to join the team at Denali Park Village, located just 7 miles from the entrance of Denali National Park. This role is perfect for those seeking an “Endless Summer” adventure in one of the most iconic natural settings in North America.

As a Barista, you will be the “perfect blend” for the team, balancing high-volume specialty drink preparation with a social, fast-paced guest service environment.


Key Responsibilities & Daily Tasks

Beverage & Food Excellence

  • Drink Crafting: Prepare and serve coffees, teas, and specialty beverages according to specific brand standards.

  • Food Service: Prepare and serve food items in line with location standards, ensuring high quality and presentation.

  • Merchandising: Stock beverage coolers, “grab-and-go” items, service ware, and condiments to keep the station guest-ready.

Operational & Financial Integrity

  • Cash Management: Accurately operate a POS system, handle cash/credit transactions, balance the cash drawer, and adhere to Aramark’s strict cash handling policies.

  • Station Maintenance: Handle the complete setup and breakdown of the coffee bar, including deep cleaning and sanitizing work areas.

  • Safety Compliance: Rigorously follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.


Qualifications & Requirements

Core Experience

  • Preferred Background: Previous experience in customer service, cash handling, and specialty coffee (Barista) is highly preferred.

  • Skills: Basic math and counting skills are required.

  • Communication: Must be able to read and communicate in English and follow complex recipes.

Physical & Professional Standards

  • Stamina: Ability to handle physical demands, including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking or standing.

  • Independence: Ability to work effectively with limited supervision.

  • Certifications: Must complete Food Handling Certification as required by local regulations.

Typical Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Food Service & Culinary: Assisting in “Galley” or cafeteria-style dining operations. This includes food preparation, serving high volumes of personnel, and maintaining kitchen sanitation according to strict safety standards.

  • Custodial & Environmental Services: Providing essential cleaning and maintenance for large-scale facilities. This involves floor care, waste management, and ensuring clinical or high-traffic areas are sanitized and orderly.

  • Facilities Support: Handling general utility tasks, such as minor repairs, equipment maintenance, and logistics support for supply deliveries arriving by sea or air.

  • Retail & Refreshments: Managing on-site convenience or “Micro Market” kiosks, including stocking, inventory tracking, and point-of-sale transactions.

  • Logistics & Warehouse: Receiving and organizing bulk shipments of food and supplies, ensuring proper storage (dry, chilled, or frozen) in accordance with FIFO (First-In-First-Out) protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Background Check: Due to the likelihood of working on federal or sensitive sites (like the Coast Guard base), the ability to pass a rigorous background check and obtain necessary security clearances is often required.

  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a large team and interact professionally with client personnel.

  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a “service-first” mindset.

  • Physicality: Ability to stand for long shifts and lift/move items weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Certifications: Ability to obtain a State of Alaska Food Worker Card for food-handling positions.
