Barista (Back of House) | Starbucks Reserve®
Crafting the Extraordinary
Starbucks Reserve® is where coffee tradition meets modern innovation. As a Back of House Barista, you aren’t just making coffee—you are an ambassador of coffee leadership and a steward of quality in our most unique flagship locations. While traditional stores focus on the daily routine, Reserve is a place of gathering, dynamic shared experiences, and elevated culinary craft.
We are looking for partners who are passionate about the “Science of the Sip” and the “Art of the Plate.” If you have a culinary heart and a service soul, your journey starts here.
Your Impact: The Reserve Experience
In this role, you bridge the gap between premium production and exceptional service.
-
Culinary & Coffee Expert: Act as a brand ambassador with deep knowledge of rotating food, specialty beans, and complex ingredients. You’ll prepare, finish, and assemble high-quality offerings following precise recipe standards.
-
Master of Operations: Support the rapid innovation cycle of the Reserve brand. You will manage inventory, utilize production planning tools, and handle specialized tasks like proofing doughs and laminates.
-
Service Steward: Anticipate guest needs by reading the room. Whether you’re supporting store events or executing a full-service model, you ensure every interaction is memorable.
-
Composure Under Pressure: Maintain a calm, professional demeanor during high-volume periods, ensuring a positive environment for both guests and your fellow partners.
What You Bring
-
Experience: A background in service, culinary arts, or hospitality (restaurant, bar, kitchen, or theater).
-
Technical Skill: Ability to memorize complex menus/builds and carry up to 35 lbs consistently. Basic culinary knife skills and pizza-making experience are a plus!
-
Flexibility: Available for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
-
Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail with the ability to multitask in a “matrixed” team environment.
-
Communication: English proficiency (reading/writing/oral); additional languages are highly beneficial.
Why Be a Partner?
Starbucks is committed to your well-being, offering a benefits package that supports your life inside and outside the store:
-
Education: 100% upfront tuition coverage for a first-time bachelor’s degree through Arizona State University’s online program.
-
Health: Medical, dental, vision, and voluntary insurance (including DACA reimbursement).
-
Financial Future: 401(k) with company match, S.I.P. (discounted stock), and Bean Stock (equity program).
-
Time Off: Accrued vacation, sick time, paid parental leave, and family expansion reimbursement.
