Great Performances has been a cornerstone of New York City’s hospitality scene for over four decades. As a woman-owned industry leader, we provide elite food services for the city’s most iconic cultural institutions, from Jazz at Lincoln Center to The Apollo Theater. We are the nation’s first caterer to own and operate an organic farm (Katchkie Farm), and we are looking for a dedicated Barista who shares our commitment to craftsmanship, sustainability, and “doing good through food.”

This is a full-time, on-site role located at one of Manhattan’s most prestigious addresses: 9 West 57th Street.

The Role: Elevated Service & Craftsmanship

As a Barista at Great Performances, you are an ambassador of our mission. You will deliver high-quality beverages and food with a “customer-first” mentality in a sophisticated café environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hospitality Excellence: Provide warm, attentive, and proactive service, anticipating guest needs before they arise.

  • Beverage Craft: Prepare consistent, high-quality coffee and tea-based beverages to our rigorous standards.

  • Cafe Operations: Manage opening and closing procedures, accurately handle POS transactions, and assist with inventory organization.

  • Environment Stewardship: Maintain a polished, clean, and welcoming café space, ensuring all equipment and service areas are spotless.

  • Product Knowledge: Confidently describe our menu of coffee, tea, and locally sourced baked goods to guests.


What We Are Looking For

We seek motivated individuals who take pride in their work and thrive in a fast-paced, polished environment.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 1–2 years of hospitality experience in a customer-facing role.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with restaurant POS systems and cash handling.

  • Communication: Strong verbal skills with a professional and polished appearance.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for 8 hours and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, punctual, and an enthusiastic team player.

  • Plus: A valid Food Handler’s Certificate is a significant advantage.
