Expert Analysis
In the “off-price” retail model (like TJX), the backroom is the most important part of the building. Unlike traditional retail, where inventory is static, TJX receives thousands of unique items weekly. This requires a Backroom Team Member who can think on their feet and categorize diverse products—from Italian leather handbags to gourmet cookware—with extreme speed.
