Unique Job Description

Newborn Care Specialist & Mother’s Helper | Weekly Respite Role

The Opportunity

We are a young, growing family in Calgary looking for a “peace-of-mind” partner to help us care for our sweet 2-month-old baby boy. This is a specialized role designed to give Mom a much-needed chance to rest and recharge once a week, knowing her son is in the most capable and loving hands. We are looking for more than a sitter; we want a dependable professional who loves the newborn stage and is interested in growing with our family over the long term.

Your Role & Impact

Your primary mission is the safety and well-being of our infant. Because he is only 2 months old, we need someone who understands the nuances of newborn care—from gentle soothing techniques to attentive feeding.

When the baby is resting, we would love a proactive “helper” who can assist with the small things that make a big difference in a busy home. This includes:

  • Infant Focus: Dedicated one-on-one care, ensuring our son feels secure and nurtured.

  • Home Support: Helping us keep our head above water with light tasks like washing dishes, tidying common areas, or simple meal prep.

  • Pet Friendly: We have a small, energetic Pomeranian who is a big part of our home, so being comfortable with dogs is essential!

Who You Are

  • Newborn Expert: You have verifiable experience working with very young infants and feel confident in your ability to handle their unique needs.

  • Trustworthy & Nurturing: You are someone we can rely on implicitly. You bring a calm, warm energy into the home.

  • Long-Term Minded: You aren’t just looking for a one-off job; you’re excited about the idea of staying with a family as a baby hits his milestones.

  • Proactive: You see a sink of dishes or a messy play mat and are happy to jump in and help.

Position Details

  • Rate: $20.00 per hour.

  • Schedule: Once per week (Day/Time to be discussed).

  • Location: Calgary, AB.
