Expert Analysis

This role offers a higher-than-average hourly rate ($35.55) compared to standard dry van AZ roles, reflecting the specialized skills required for flatbed securement and Moffett operation. Norstar is a well-established manufacturing firm, providing high stability; however, drivers should be prepared for the physical demands of construction site deliveries and “hand-bombing” debris.

Location & Logistics Guide

The position is primarily based out of the Toronto/Stoney Creek corridor, serving the massive construction demand in the Golden Horseshoe. Logistics involve navigating tight urban construction zones and heavy 400-series highway traffic. Access to reliable personal transport is recommended for reaching the central yard.

Career Path

Successful flatbed drivers often progress into Fleet Safety Coordination or Lead Driver roles. Given Norstar’s manufacturing focus, internal opportunities for Production Management or Logistics Planning are also viable. Specialized Moffett training increases a driver’s marketability for high-paying heavy equipment transport roles in the future.
