Expert Analysis
The high experience requirement (7 years) suggests that the logistics provider handles complex, high-traffic urban routes where precision is paramount. While the flat daily rate provides income predictability, it is best suited for retired or semi-retired senior drivers looking for flexible “gig-style” work without the commitment of a full-time long-haul schedule.
Location & Logistics Guide
The position covers the entire Greater Toronto Area, requiring mastery of the 401, 410, and 427 highway networks. Drivers must be comfortable with the specific challenges of GTA logistics, including tight industrial parking, heavy traffic congestion, and strict delivery windows at major regional distribution hubs.

Career Path
Senior drivers in on-call roles often move into Driver Mentorship, Safety Auditing, or Fleet Training positions. The extensive city experience required for this role also makes candidates prime targets for “Shunter Management” or specialized “High-Value Local Logistics” consulting within the Greater Toronto Area’s competitive supply chain market.
