Job Description

Are you a “Retail Maverick” who is tired of the status quo and ready to run your own show? Sundial is looking for an Aspiring Store Leader to join our Calgary team. We aren’t just selling products; we are curating a lifestyle and building a community. If you have the “grit” to manage a complex inventory flow and the “wit” to inspire a team to hit record-breaking sales numbers, you belong in our leadership ranks.

Your goal is to make your Sundial location the top-performing store in the region by fostering an environment of excellence and teamwork.

Joining Sundial means joining a company that invests in your future. We offer a compensation package that recognizes your leadership potential and a culture that values your creative input. We provide a supportive, fast-paced environment where you can develop the “Business Acumen” needed to run a multi-million dollar retail operation. SNDL Inc. (formerly Sundial Growers) | Calgary & Vertical Integration

SNDL Inc. is a Calgary-based leader in the regulated product platform space, operating as Canada’s largest private-sector liquor and cannabis retailer. Originally known as Sundial Growers, the company rebranded to SNDL in 2022 to reflect its massive diversification into liquor retail (through the acquisition of Alcanna) and investment operations. While it maintains high-tech cultivation facilities in Olds, Alberta, its corporate heart and strategic decision-making are centered in Calgary.

Company Culture: “Act Like an Owner”

The culture at SNDL has shifted from a pure agricultural focus to a retail-heavy, “entrepreneurial-investor” mindset.

  • Ownership Mentality: A core cultural pillar is “Act Like an Owner.” Employees are encouraged to take personal accountability for their results, fostering a fast-paced environment that prioritizes profitability and operational efficiency.

  • Radical Adaptability: Given the volatile nature of the cannabis industry, the culture is defined by pivot-readiness. SNDL is known for its “daring” moves, such as moving from a pure-play producer to a diversified retailer and financier within a very short window.

  • Merit-Based Growth: The workplace values “Never Stop Raising the Bar.” While it has faced growing pains typical of the sector, the organization emphasizes a “One Team, One Purpose” approach to integrate its diverse liquor and cannabis banners.

  • Corporate Rigor: Since the 2022 rebrand, the internal culture has become more aligned with traditional financial and retail sectors, emphasizing compliance, data-driven decision-making, and high-level corporate transparency.

Location: The Calgary HQ & Operational Reach

SNDL operates out of a centralized corporate headquarters in downtown Calgary, serving as the hub for its global investment and national retail strategies.

SNDL Corporate Head Office

  • Retail Management: From Calgary, the company manages a massive retail portfolio, including well-known Alberta brands like Wine and Beyond, Liquor Depot, Ace Liquor, and Nova Cannabis.

  • The “Olds” Connection: While the corporate work happens in Calgary, the “hands-on” production takes place at their 448,000 sq. ft. flagship facility in Olds, AB, where they focus on premium, small-batch indoor cultivation.
