Job Overview: Barista & Cashier (Downtown Indy)

CC Holdings Inc. is hiring friendly and motivated individuals for Coffee Zon, located within IU Health facilities in downtown Indianapolis. This is a unique retail environment because your primary customers are healthcare heroes—doctors, nurses, and hospital staff—as well as patients and their families.

As a hybrid Barista and Cashier, you are the face of the café. You aren’t just serving coffee; you are providing a much-needed “moment of zen” for people working in a high-stress medical environment.

Key Responsibilities & Café Operations

Hospitality & Service

• The Front Line: Greet every guest with a smile and process orders with a sense of urgency and hospitality.

• Education: Act as an expert on premium coffees and teas, helping guests navigate the menu to find their perfect caffeine fix.

• The “Full Experience”: From the initial greeting to the final “thank you,” you are responsible for the guest’s lasting impression of Coffee Zon.

Technical & Operational Tasks

• Dual Mastery: You must be cross-trained to handle all stations, including espresso/coffee, salad prep, bakery, and sandwich making.

• Financial Integrity: Follow strict cash-handling procedures. Accuracy in recording orders and giving change is critical, as errors can lead to immediate termination.

• Safety & Standards: Maintain a clean POS area and café. Gloves must be worn at all times when handling food to meet IU Health’s high sanitary standards.

Teamwork & Growth

• One-Minute Meetings: Participate in brief daily huddles to align on goals and promotions.

• Suggestive Selling: Keep customers informed about new products, catering options, and seasonal promotions.

• Leadership: Act as a role model and provide on-the-job training for new Customer Service Representatives (CSRs).

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma is required.

• Vetting: Because you are working within a hospital system, you must pass a background check and drug screen (paid for by the company).

• Communication: Excellent listening skills and a genuine passion for hospitality.

• Attitude: A sense of urgency and the ability to remain flexible during emergencies or when dealing with difficult customers.

• Grooming: Must arrive in proper uniform and adhere to all grooming standards daily.
