Website Computer Task Group, Inc

Job Summary

The IT Support / Asset Management for IT Warehouse role at Computer Task Group (CTG) is a specialized “Infrastructure & Logistics” position based on-site in Québec City. This role requires the “wit” to manage complex hardware lifecycles and cross-platform inventory audits, and the “grit” to maintain a physical warehouse, including lifting equipment up to 18 kilos (40 lbs). You will be the gatekeeper of the corporate technology stack, ensuring that workstations, mobile devices, and peripherals are tracked, configured, and deployed with surgical precision.

Job Details

  • Employer: Computer Task Group, Inc. (A Cegeka Company).

  • Location: Québec City, Quebec (100% On-site).

  • Status: Long-term Contract-to-Hire.

  • Physicality: Must be able to lift 18 kg (40 lbs).

  • Tools: Office 365, Zebca, Octopus (ServiceNow), and Autopilot platforms.

Key Responsibilities: The “Asset Lifecycle” Cycle

You are responsible for the “Cradle-to-Grave” management of all IT hardware.

  • Inventory Synchronization: Maintain and audit workstation and telephone data across systems like Zebca and Octopus (ServiceNow) to ensure 100% compliance.

  • Deployment Readiness: Keep a rotating stock of 15 to 20 workstations fully prepared and ready for immediate deployment to users.

  • Logistics & Distribution: Process requests from Control Technicians, distribute equipment, and manage the “Offboarding” flow for returned gear from departing employees or closed sites.

  • Vendor & Supply Chain Liaison: Work with buyers and suppliers to resolve delivery discrepancies, process damaged goods, and ensure new equipment is captured in Windows Autopilot before arrival.

  • Lifecycle Management: Track and maintain the longevity lists for cell phones, iPads, and computers, identifying when devices are due for refresh.

  • Secure Disposal: Manage the recycling of obsolete hardware, ensuring data destruction meets the rigorous standards set by the Cyber Security team.

  • Warehouse Stewardship: Maintain the physical order of equipment rooms and perform routine cleaning to meet health and safety standards.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

  • The “Systems-Savvy Organizer”: Someone with excellent computer skills and a deep familiarity with the Office 365 suite.

  • Analytical Wit: High attention to detail is required for cross-platform inventory checks where a single serial number error can disrupt the supply chain.

  • Operational Grit: A self-starter who is autonomous but can also collaborate effectively within a team of technicians and buyers.

  • Professional Communication: Excellent verbal and written English skills are required to interact with a diverse group of global stakeholders and suppliers.

  • Methodical Approach: The ability to follow, document, and implement strict instructions regarding storage labeling and cybersecurity protocols.

Technical Insights: The Modern IT Warehouse

Asset management has moved beyond simple spreadsheets into automated deployment and service management platforms.

  • ServiceNow (Octopus): You will use this IT Service Management (ITSM) tool to link “Assets” (the physical laptop) to “Configuration Items” (the user profile and software).

  • Windows Autopilot: By ensuring suppliers register hardware IDs in Autopilot, you enable “Zero-Touch” deployment, where a laptop automatically configures itself the moment a user logs in.

  • The “Circular Economy” of IT: Managing recycling isn’t just about trash; it involves recovering rare earth metals and ensuring “e-waste” compliance. In 2024, approximately 20% of global e-waste is formally recycled, and your role ensures the company stays within the “Green IT” compliance bracket.
