Job Overview: Director of Catering and Events
Holiday Inn Hotels is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Catering and Events to lead the department in Phoenix, AZ. This role is designed for an experienced hospitality leader who can blend high-level sales strategy with meticulous operational execution.
As the Director, you are the architect of the hotel’s event business, responsible for everything from initial client acquisition and budget management to the final “post-event” follow-up. Your goal is to ensure every wedding, corporate conference, and social gala is executed with seamless precision.
Key Responsibilities & Departmental Leadership
Strategic Operations & Sales

Full-Cycle Management: Oversee daily operations including sales, detailed event planning, on-site execution, and post-event analysis.

Business Development: Identify market trends and competitor strategies to develop innovative event packages that attract new clients and drive repeat business.

Financial Stewardship: Create and manage the departmental budget, ensuring all events are cost-effective and meet the hotel’s profitability targets.

Compliance & Standards: Ensure all events adhere to hotel policies, safety procedures, and legal requirements while upholding the brand’s quality standards.
Leadership & Coordination

Team Mentorship: Lead a team of catering and event professionals, providing the training, support, and guidance necessary to achieve high performance.

Inter-Departmental Synergy: Collaborate with the Kitchen, Front Office, and Housekeeping teams to ensure total hotel coordination for large-scale events.

Client & Vendor Relations

Primary Point of Contact: Serve as the lead liaison for clients, ensuring their needs are met before, during, and after their events.
