Job Overview: Cleaning Supervisor

This is a “player-coach” role that combines hands-on cleaning with the management of an on-site team, stock control, and building security. Key Responsibilities
-
Team Leadership: Supervising on-site cleaners, managing sign-in/out times, assisting with inductions, and coordinating holiday or sickness cover.

Quality Control: Conducting regular cleaning audits and daily inspections to ensure “world-class” standards are maintained throughout the school.

Stock Management: Monitoring cleaning product levels and placing orders for materials as needed.

Health & Safety: Ensuring all staff are trained in their specific functions and adhere to PPE and safety requirements.

Security: Taking responsibility for the daily lockdown and securing of the building at the end of the shift.

Reporting: Relaying maintenance defects to the Facilities Management team and reporting security issues to the on-call engineer.
Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: Essential previous experience in a cleaning role and experience leading or managing a team.

Approach: A “hands-on” attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Skills: Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks in a busy school environment.

Vetting: Because this role is based in a school, an enhanced DBS check is mandatory.
