This role represents the “Statutory Professional Services” tier of your 147-role York dataset.
-
The York “Grade 9” Benchmark: At £38k–£43k, this role sits firmly in the city’s professional middle-management bracket. It is higher than the York College Tutor (£27.68/hr / ~£32k FTE) but aligned with the Senior Technical Team Manager at the University of York, reflecting the high value of statutory social work qualifications in 2026.
-
The “Front Door” Evolution: The ASCCT structure—incorporating “Front Door” and “Health Specialist” functions—mirrors the 2026 trend of integrating social care more closely with the NHS to prevent hospital admissions.
-
The Sponsorship Barrier: Consistent with Hiscox, adidas, and Cystic Fibrosis Trust, the Council’s lack of visa sponsorship for this role highlights a tightening of the domestic labor market for specialized public sector roles in 2026.
