The Accounting Coordinator at Aloft Montreal Airport is a pivotal “Financial Operations” role within the Silver Hotel Group (SHG) portfolio. You will act as the financial backbone for a selection of hotels, ensuring that everything from guest billing to staff payroll is executed with 100% accuracy.

Key Responsibilities: The “Financial Integrity” Cycle

You are responsible for the end-to-end accounting lifecycle for multiple properties, ensuring fiscal health and guest satisfaction.

  • Full-Cycle Accounting: Manage all phases of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), including monthly A/R aging reports and credit rating checks.

  • Payroll Leadership: Oversee the payroll process, coordinating with department heads to ensure accuracy and e-filing documents via Payworks.

  • Reconciliation & Reporting: Prepare monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations; verify transactions and report any irregularities to the Corporate Finance Manager.

  • Revenue Assurance: Audit guest, city, and deposit ledgers daily. Coordinate with PMS teams to resolve imbalances and provide direction to the Night Audit team.

  • Guest Billing Resolution: Act as the primary troubleshooter for billing disputes, ensuring all guest concerns are acknowledged within 48 hours.

  • Tax & Compliance: Verify that correct taxation is applied across all Property Management Systems (PMS) and Point of Sale (POS) software.

  • The “Analytical Auditor”: Someone with exceptional problem-solving skills and a high level of accuracy in preparing financial reports.

  • Technological Wit: Proficiency in Excel is required; specific knowledge of Sage, Maestro, Opera, and Delphi is a major asset.

  • Internal Controls: You are the gatekeeper of internal financial ethics, performing regular audits of property cash flows and ensuring all statutory details are displayed on guest invoices.
