Job Overview: Mother’s Help / Nanny (Part-Time)

Harmony at Home (Leeds and Northwest Yorkshire) is seeking a proactive and organized Mother’s Help or Nanny for a delightful family in Alwoodley, Leeds. This role is designed to provide high-level support to a mother with three young children (aged 5, 3, and 11 months), allowing her to focus on work for a few hours each day while remaining on-site if needed.

The ideal candidate will be a “play-focused” professional—someone who can transition seamlessly between caring for an infant and engaging energetic older children in outdoor and indoor activities.


Key Responsibilities & Childcare Support

Collaborative Care

  • Infant Specialist: Provide confident, dedicated care for the 11-month-old boy, ensuring his safety and developmental needs are met.

  • Proactive Engagement: Plan and lead fun indoor activities and outdoor play in the family’s spacious garden, utilizing the climbing frame for the older children (aged 5 and 3).

  • Mother’s Support: Work alongside the mother to handle the day-to-day running of the children’s schedules, acting as a reliable “second set of hands.”

Household & Routine

  • Light Housekeeping: Perform light duties specifically related to the children, such as tidying play areas or preparing snacks.

  • Organized Management: Maintain a structured and caring environment that balances the different needs of multiple children.


Requirements & Qualifications

Mandatory Criteria

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience, specifically with multiple children and infants.

  • Education: Level 3 in Childcare or an equivalent professional qualification.

  • Safety: Must possess an Enhanced DBS Check (registered on the update service) and a 12-hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate.

  • References: Must provide at least two professional referees, including your most recent employer, who are immediately contactable.

Candidate Profile

  • Disposition: Caring, energetic, and proactive with a genuine love for playing with children.

  • Skills: Strong organizational abilities and the confidence to manage three children of varying ages simultaneously.


Compensation & Schedule

  • Pay Rate: £13.50 per hour.

  • Total Hours: 20 hours per week (Fixed-term contract).

  • Weekly Schedule:

    • Mon, Wed, Thu: 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM

    • Tue or Fri: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

  • Location: Alwoodley, Leeds (Driving is not essential).

  • Pets: None in the home.

  • Start Date: ASAP.
