Job Overview: Academic Support and Library Services Administrator

You will act as a strategic bridge between faculty, the library system, and the student body, ensuring that academic resources evolve alongside the needs of NYU’s diverse, global community. Key Responsibilities & Strategic Oversight

Resource & Service Management

  • System Oversight: Manage all academic support services and library resources, ensuring they are accessible and high-quality.

  • Strategy Development: Implement new strategies to enhance the efficiency of tutoring, research assistance, and digital library tools.

  • Budgetary Control: Oversee the department’s budget and allocate resources effectively to meet student and faculty demands.

  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and refine administrative procedures to provide the highest level of service.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and supervise a dedicated team of support staff, fostering a culture of excellence and student-centered service.

  • Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between the university administration and students/faculty regarding library and support needs.

  • Cross-Departmental Integration: Work with other university units to weave academic support into the broader student experience and campus life.

  • External Partnerships: Develop and maintain relationships with outside organizations to expand the breadth of available student resources.

Advocacy & Assessment

  • Outreach: Proactively communicate with the student body to raise awareness of available resources and academic tools.

  • Impact Evaluation: Develop and implement assessment measures to track the success and impact of these services on student GPA and retention.

  • Trend Monitoring: Stay current on global trends and best practices in library science and academic coaching to keep NYU’s offerings competitive.
