The Organization & Culture In August 2024, the institution officially transitioned from Manhattan College to Manhattan University. In 2026, the culture is defined by this “University” identity, which reflects a broader global reach and an expanded portfolio of graduate and doctoral programs. As a Lasallian Catholic institution, the environment is rooted in social justice, mutual respect, and a “person-centered” approach to education. The student body is known for being pragmatic and career-focused, which is reflected in the university’s consistent ranking as a top school for student return on investment (ROI) and social mobility.

    The Location: Riverdale, Bronx

    • The “Manhattan” Misnomer: Despite the name, the university is located in the Riverdale section of the Bronx (4513 Manhattan College Pkwy). It moved from Manhattan to this 23-acre leafy, residential campus in 1923.

    • The Best of Both Worlds: The campus offers a traditional, enclosed “college town” feel—complete with a central quad and Gothic architecture—while being just a 35-minute subway ride (via the 1 train) from the heart of Midtown Manhattan.

    • The “Jasper” Neighborhood: The surrounding area is safe and walkable, featuring local favorites like Van Cortlandt Park and the historic “Little Italy” of the Bronx on Arthur Avenue just a short trip away.

    Workplace & Academic Highlights (2026)

    • The 2026 “ARCH” Innovation: A major strategic pillar this year is the ARCH Innovation Exchange, which promotes interdisciplinary research. In 2026, the university has focused heavily on the Ethics of AI, integrating these discussions into the O’Malley School of Business and the School of Engineering.

    • Salary & Outcomes Excellence: * National Ranking: Manhattan University ranks in the top 3% of U.S. colleges for the mid-career earnings of its graduates.

    • Comprehensive 2026 Benefits:

      • Tuition Remission: A standout benefit for employees, offering 100% tuition waiver for employees and significant discounts for legal dependents.

      • Summer Hours: The university typically observes “Summer Fridays,” where the campus closes early or entirely on Fridays during the summer months.
