Job Overview: Night-Shift Airport Wheelchair Support Specialist
Pacific Aviation, a premier airport service provider, is seeking dedicated Wheelchair Assistants to join the team at Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). This role is essential to the airport’s mission of accessibility, providing critical mobility support to passengers as they navigate the terminal, security checkpoints, and boarding gates.
As a Night-Shift Specialist, you will be the primary support for travelers on late-night arrivals and early-morning departures, ensuring a safe and stress-free transition through the “heart” of the airport.
Key Responsibilities & Passenger Care
Mobility & Logistics

Passenger Transport: Safely and efficiently transport passengers with disabilities or limited mobility through the airport terminal using company-provided wheelchairs.

Baggage Assistance: Assist passengers with the lifting and management of their carry-on and checked luggage during the transport process.

Gate Navigation: Coordinate with airline gate agents to ensure passengers are boarded on time and positioned correctly for specialized boarding procedures.
Service Excellence

Positive Presence: Maintain a professional, friendly, and helpful demeanor, serving as a welcoming representative for both the airline and the airport.

Safety Adherence: Strictly follow all safety protocols for wheelchair operation, including the use of brakes and proper lifting techniques to prevent injury to yourself or the passenger.

Communication: Clearly communicate flight updates, directional information, and terminal amenities to passengers under your care.

Physical Stamina: Ability to push passengers in wheelchairs for long distances and lift luggage (typically up to 50 lbs) throughout a shift.

Mandatory Criteria

Availability: Must be able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Clearance: Ability to pass a 10-year federal background check and drug screen to obtain an RDU SIDA badge.

Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
