Job Overview: Shift Supervisor – Aviation Security (PWM)

Global Elite Group, a specialized leader in aviation security, is seeking a Shift Supervisor to oversee daily security operations at Portland International Jetport (PWM). This role is at the frontline of homeland security, ensuring the safety of infrastructure and the execution of secure operations for one of Maine’s most critical transportation hubs.

As a Shift Supervisor, you will lead a team of security professionals, serving as the vital link between Global Elite Group management, airport operations, and federal stakeholders like the TSA.

Key Responsibilities & Operational Leadership

Team Management & Oversight

Direct Supervision: Lead and direct the activities of assigned security officers during your shift, ensuring all posts are covered and protocols are strictly followed.
Performance Coaching: Provide ongoing and monthly training, verbal feedback, and formal performance documentation to maintain high service standards.
Appearance Standards: Ensure all team members uphold strict uniform and professional demeanor requirements.

Security & Compliance Operations

Access Control: Monitor terminal, perimeter, and parking area patrols to ensure compliance with airport security and access control procedures.
Inspections: Conduct or assist with Aviation Worker Screening (AWS), vehicle, and product inspections to prevent unauthorized access.
Documentation: Oversee the accurate completion of daily logs, incident reports, and inspection paperwork.
Stakeholder Liaison: Attend quarterly PWM security meetings and act as the primary point of contact between the company and Airport Operations staff.

Incident Response & Coordination

Emergency Handling: Respond to and manage incidents, emergencies, and customer escalations, ensuring immediate notification to the Airport Operations Center (AOC).
Special Assignments: Coordinate manpower for VIP escorts, emergency requests, and shifts in federal alert levels.

Qualifications & Requirements

Professional Experience

Tenure: Minimum of 2 years of experience in security or law enforcement.
Leadership: At least 1 year in a supervisory capacity is preferred.
Education: High school diploma or GED required; college coursework is a plus.

Mandatory Criteria

Age & Licensing: Must be at least 21 years old with a valid Maine Class C driver’s license.
Clearance: Ability to pass a 10-year TSA background investigation and fingerprinting process to obtain and maintain a SIDA badge.
Availability: Must be able to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Soft Skills

Conflict Resolution: Proven ability to lead by example and resolve disputes in a high-pressure, public-facing environment.
Communication: Strong written and verbal skills for reporting and stakeholder interaction.
