Job Summary: Clubhouse Crew (London Heathrow)
Virgin Atlantic is looking for hospitality-focused individuals to join their award-winning Clubhouse and Revivals lounges at London Heathrow. This isn’t just a waiting role; it’s about being an ambassador for the iconic Virgin brand. You will be responsible for creating a “sanctuary of comfort” for Upper Class and Frequent Flyer guests, serving seasonal menus and signature cocktails in a vibrant, high-end environment.
If you thrive in fast-paced hospitality and have a flair for tailored, professional service, this is a chance to build a career with one of the world’s most recognizable travel brands.
Key Responsibilities
1. The Virgin Welcome
-
Guest Relations: Greet high-value travelers with a warm, professional “Virgin smile,” introducing them to the lounge facilities.
-
Service Excellence: Deliver an immersive culinary experience, from placing seasonal plates to pouring specialty teas, coffees, and signature cocktails.
-
Proactive Hospitality: Anticipate guest needs—whether it’s an extra glass of bubbly or clearing plates—to ensure a seamless pre-flight experience.
2. Operations & Standards
-
Environment Management: Maintain a spotlessly clean, relaxing sanctuary for guests to unwind.
-
Uniform Standards: Uphold the highest grooming and presentation standards in the iconic Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse uniform.
-
Multi-tasking: Prioritize and manage multiple food and drink requests simultaneously during peak departure windows.
Role Details & Compensation
-
Location: London Heathrow Airport (LHR), Hounslow.
-
Contract: Permanent.
-
Salary (Full-Time): £26,374 per year (+ shift pay and benefits).
-
Salary (Part-Time): £13,011 per year (+ shift pay and benefits).
-
Full-Time Hours: 37.5 hours per week (4 on, 2 off shift pattern).
-
Part-Time Hours: 18.5 hours per week (3 on, 3 off shift pattern).
-
Shifts: Various starts between 05:00 and 23:00, including weekends and Bank Holidays.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Criteria:
-
Experience: Minimum 12 months in a food and beverage or high-end hospitality environment.
-
Stamina: Confident working on your feet for long periods in a fast-paced setting.
-
Vetting: Must be 18+ and able to acquire an Airside Pass ID (requires a clean criminal record and checkable history).
-
Commute: Must live within a 90-minute commute of Heathrow Airport.
-
Cool-off Period: Must not have applied unsuccessfully for this role within the last 6 months.
The Virgin Atlantic “Clubhouse” Experience
The Clubhouse is designed to feel like a private members’ club rather than a standard airport lounge. It often features unique amenities like deli stations, cocktail bars, and even spa services.
Why Join the “Virgin Family”?
-
Staff Travel: Access to Virgin Atlantic’s legendary concessionary travel scheme (hugely discounted flights for you and your nominees).
-
Professional Growth: Virgin is known for its “coach and develop” culture, offering clear pathways into senior hospitality or cabin crew roles.
-
Inclusive Culture: A strong commitment to diversity and belonging, where being “yourself” is encouraged.
Application Tip: Prepare for the Video Assessment
Virgin’s recruitment process is unique and focuses heavily on personality.
-
The Online Video: If you pass the initial screen, you’ll be asked for a video interview. Energy is everything. Ensure you are well-groomed, have good lighting, and let your personality shine through—Virgin hires “people,” not just “resumes.”
-
Attention to Detail: In your application, don’t just say you “served food.” Mention how you provided tailored service (e.g., remembering a guest’s drink preference or handling a complex dietary requirement).
-
Flexibility: Mention your ability to handle the 05:00 AM starts. Reliability is a key metric for airport operations because the Clubhouse must be ready before the first “Upper Class” check-ins arrive.
Next Steps: The closing date is Thursday 12th March 2026. Successful candidates will move to an online video assessment, followed by an in-person assessment center in Central London.
