Job Summary
The Internal Communications & Culture Partner at Edmonton International Airport (YEG) is a strategic storytelling and employee experience role reporting directly to the Director, People & Culture. As a “Culture Architect,” you serve as the bridge between organizational strategy and the daily experiences of airport team members. This position requires the “wit” to translate complex operational updates into human narratives and the “grit” to manage communication during operational disruptions at a major 24/7 aviation hub.

Core Responsibilities

Strategy & Advisory: Partner with leadership to recommend communication approaches that drive engagement and action. You help leaders find the right “voice” and tone for their messaging.

Multimedia Storytelling: Create compelling content for the HUB intranet, SkyLine newsletter, digital screens, video, and social platforms (Teams/WhatsApp).

Culture & Onboarding: Support the People & Culture team by drafting engaging job descriptions, recruitment messaging, and onboarding materials that make new hires feel connected from “Day One.”

Campaign Execution: Develop communication plans for major internal projects, including performance management cycles, recognition initiatives, and SoWell (wellness) events.

Crisis Communications: Provide clear, timely, and calm information to team members during operational disruptions or airport emergencies.

Analytics & Growth: Monitor communication effectiveness through surveys and feedback loops, providing data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
Candidate Profile

Education: Post-secondary degree in Communications, PR, Marketing, or HR.

Experience: 3+ years in internal/corporate communications or employee engagement.

Technical Wit: Proficiency with digital platforms (SharePoint/Intranets) and Microsoft Office; experience with Adobe Creative Suite or video editing is a significant asset.

Soft Skills: High collaboration, relationship-oriented, and the “Integrity-first” ability to work with leaders at all levels.

Linguistic Asset: Bilingualism in English and French is a plus, supporting the airport’s diverse passenger and employee base.
Technical Insights: The Internal Communications Ecosystem
Managing communications at an airport requires balancing “Desk-based” and “Frontline” audiences.

Omnichannel Delivery: Because airport staff range from office executives to ramp agents, you must master “Mobile-First” communication (WhatsApp/Teams) alongside traditional print and digital signage.

Change Management: Using frameworks like ADKAR (Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability, Reinforcement), you help employees navigate organizational shifts or new technology implementations.

Feedback Loops: Effective culture partners don’t just “push” information; they create “Pull” mechanisms (Pulse Surveys/AMA sessions) to ensure leadership hears the “Ground Truth” from the terminal floor.
