Core Responsibilities

• Passenger Screening: Utilize walk-through metal detectors and full-body scanners to screen the traveling public for restricted items.

• Baggage Inspection: Master the use of X-ray technology to analyze carry-on and checked luggage for explosives, weapons, or “Dual-Use” prohibited items.

• Access Control: Guard the threshold between the “Landside” (public) and “Airside” (secure) areas by verifying boarding passes and Restricted Area Identity Cards (RAIC).

• Explosive Trace Detection (ETD): Conduct manual swabs of electronic devices and passenger belongings to test for trace chemical particulates.

• Emergency Response: Act as a critical link in the airport’s safety chain, responding to security breaches or medical emergencies according to standard operating procedures.

• Conflict Resolution: Manage passenger flow with an “Integrity-first” approach, de-escalating stressful situations while maintaining strict security standards.

Candidate Requirements

• Eligibility: Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
