Job Summary: Roadshow Event Manager (Part-Time)
Coburg Banks Limited is seeking a dynamic Roadshow Event Manager to lead a community-focused campaign in Glasgow and the surrounding areas. This is a unique part-time role that blends logistics, team leadership, and public engagement. You will be responsible for managing mobile events that deliver high-impact messaging directly to the public, operating from a specialized company vehicle.
Key Responsibilities
-
Event Leadership: Take full ownership of the roadshow’s daily operations, ensuring events are set up on time and run according to the campaign’s strategic goals.
-
Public Engagement: Act as the face of the campaign, interacting with a diverse range of people to deliver life-changing information and “change lives.”
-
Logistics & Driving: Operate and manage a dedicated “work only” company vehicle, navigating routes within a 35-mile radius of Glasgow.
-
Team Management: Oversee on-site staff and volunteers, ensuring everyone is aligned with the campaign’s core messaging and health and safety protocols.
-
Reporting: Track event success metrics and provide feedback to the central campaign team to optimize future roadshow locations.
Role Details & Compensation
-
Pay Rate: £180 per day.
-
Working Pattern: Primarily Tuesday – Thursday.
-
Weekend Commitment: Up to 5 weekend days per year (making this highly predictable for those with other commitments).
-
Contract: Fixed Term | Part-Time.
-
Bonuses: Generous performance-based and project completion bonuses.
-
Vehicle: Company vehicle and fuel card provided for all work-related mileage.
Candidate Requirements
-
Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills—you must be comfortable approaching and talking to members of the public from all walks of life.
-
Reliability: Strong organizational skills to manage the logistics of a mobile roadshow.
-
Driving: A valid UK driving licence is required to operate the company vehicle.
-
Location: Must be based within commuting distance of Glasgow and comfortable traveling within a 35-mile radius (e.g., Paisley, East Kilbride, Stirling, or Hamilton).
-
Attitude: Passionate about community work and driven by the desire to deliver a campaign that has a positive social impact.
Why This Role Stands Out
This isn’t a standard “office” event role. It is a high-visibility, mobile position that offers a high daily rate (£180) and provides all the tools you need—including the vehicle—to succeed. The Tuesday–Thursday schedule offers a rare “mid-week” focus that is ideal for freelancers, students, or those with weekend-heavy personal projects.
Application Tip: Highlight Your “Field” Experience
When applying through Coburg Banks, focus on your ability to work autonomously:
-
Mobile Operations: If you have ever worked out of a van, managed a pop-up shop, or handled “field” marketing, emphasize your ability to troubleshoot problems without an office nearby.
-
Public Speaking: Mention any experience you have in promotion, education, or public-facing roles where you had to simplify complex information for a general audience.
-
Local Geography: Confirm your familiarity with the Greater Glasgow road network, as you will be responsible for getting the roadshow to its destination safely and on time.
