Key Responsibilities & Facility Maintenance

Sanitary & Orderly Environment

  • Comprehensive Cleaning: Clean and service all hospital areas, including patient rooms, communal spaces, and non-patient administrative areas.

  • Laundry Operations: Perform a variety of laundry duties to ensure a steady supply of clean linens and garments, adhering to hospital hygiene protocols.

  • Grounds Upkeep: Assist in maintaining the hospital and its immediate grounds in an orderly and sanitary condition.

Administrative & Collaborative Support

  • Reporting: Under the supervision of the Environmental Services Manager, perform basic calculations and accurately transcribe numerical records related to inventory or shift tasks.

  • Interpersonal Interaction: Effectively communicate with patients, staff, and visitors, maintaining the hospital’s signature compassionate philosophy.


Qualifications & Physical Requirements

Professional Standards

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Language Skills: Ability to speak, read, and write in English is required for safety and coordination.

  • Experience: Previous experience in professional housekeeping or laundry services is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Aptitude: Must be able to perform basic numerical transcription and calculations.

Physical Demands

  • Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.

  • Lifting: Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 lbs frequently and up to 40 lbs occasionally.

  • Disposition: A demonstrated attitude of non-abandonment and compassion, aligning with Calvary’s unique tradition of palliative care.


Compensation & Position Details

  • Salary: $24.8624 per hour.

  • Job Type: Per Diem (As needed).

  • Available Shifts: Day, Evening, and Night shifts.

  • Vaccination Policy: COVID-19 vaccination is strongly encouraged for all new hires.
