Job Overview: Lead Talent Acquisition Partner (WealthTech)

This is a high-impact, “founding” talent role for a fast-growing NYC-based WealthTech startup. As the Lead Talent Acquisition Partner, you will act as a one-person recruiting engine, directly responsible for scaling the team during a critical expansion phase. Backed by top-tier investors, this startup is looking for a scrappy, high-energy recruiter who can build a function from the ground up while maintaining a high bar for talent.

You will report directly to the leadership team and founders, serving as the strategic gatekeeper for the company’s culture and growth.

Key Responsibilities & Functional Leadership

Full-Cycle Execution

  • End-to-End Ownership: Manage the entire recruiting lifecycle across GTM (Sales/Marketing), Product, Engineering, and Operations.

  • Strategic Sourcing: Proactively hunt and engage top-tier talent in the competitive NYC tech market, ensuring a diverse and high-caliber pipeline.

  • Candidate Experience: Act as the face of the brand, creating a seamless and “exceptional” journey for every candidate from first touch to offer.

Strategic Partnership & Scaling

  • Founder Collaboration: Work side-by-side with founders and hiring managers to define headcount needs, craft job descriptions, and set evaluation criteria.

  • Process Infrastructure: Refine and build recruiting processes, select tools (ATS/Sourcing tech), and enhance employer branding to attract talent at scale.

  • Autonomy: Lead as a one-person function, demonstrating the initiative to solve problems without an established HR playbook.

Qualifications & “What We’re Looking For”

Professional Profile

  • Experience: ~3–7 years of recruiting experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked within a tech company or a fast-moving startup environment.

  • Versatility: Proven ability to hire across multiple functions, specifically bridging the gap between technical (Engineering/Product) and business (Sales/Ops) roles.

  • Stakeholder Management: Exceptional skills in managing high-level stakeholders and founders.

Core Competencies

  • Scrappy & High-Energy: A “builder” mindset with the grit to navigate the ambiguity of a rapid-growth startup.

  • Self-Starter: The ability to work with high autonomy and lead a department of one.

  • NYC-Centric: Comfort working in the dynamic, fast-paced atmosphere of the New York City tech scene.

Why Join This WealthTech Startup?

  • Mission-Driven: Play a pivotal role in modernizing technology for financial institutions and advisors.

  • Influence: Work directly with leadership, significantly shaping the company’s team and long-term culture.

  • Growth: This is a “critical stage” role; as the company scales, your impact and responsibility within the organization are likely to expand.

  • Stability & Backing: Enjoy the excitement of a startup with the security of top-tier investor backing.
