Job Overview: Commercial Construction Superintendent

Key Responsibilities & Field Leadership

Site Management & Workflow

• Operational Oversight: Direct all on-site activities, ensuring that subcontractors and vendors are working efficiently and following the project schedule.

• Workflow Optimization: Anticipate potential bottlenecks in the construction process and implement proactive solutions to keep the project on track.

• Documentation: Maintain meticulous daily logs, progress reports, and safety records to ensure transparent communication with the home office.

Safety & Quality Control

• Safety Leadership: Enforce strict compliance with OSHA regulations and HITT’s internal safety protocols to maintain a zero-injury environment.

• Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections of work-in-progress to ensure all installations meet or exceed project specifications and building codes.

• Collaboration: Partner closely with Project Managers to align field operations with budgetary constraints and client expectations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Professional Experience

• Tenure: Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in commercial construction, specifically in a leadership or supervisory capacity.

• Project Scope: Proven track record of managing commercial builds (e.g., corporate interiors, healthcare, or technology sectors).

• Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams under tight deadlines.

Technical Competencies

• Blueprints: Expert ability to read and interpret complex architectural and engineering drawings.

• Software: Proficiency with construction management software and digital documentation tools.
