Job Overview: Retail Sales Associate (Part-Time)

AutoZone is seeking a customer-focused Retail Sales Associate for their South Houston location. This role is the “frontline” of the store, responsible for delivering their signature “WOW! Customer Service.” You will help DIYers and professional mechanics find the right parts, provide expert advice, and ensure the store remains organized and operational.

Key Responsibilities & Technical Tasks

Customer Service & Sales

  • Expert Advice: Engage with customers to provide trustworthy automotive advice and help them select the right parts for their vehicle needs.

  • Sales Metrics: Recommend products, services, and current promotions to meet store performance goals and enhance the customer experience.

  • Diagnostic Support: Utilize AutoZone’s diagnostic tools to read vehicle codes and suggest appropriate repair solutions.

Store Operations

  • Inventory Management: Maintain well-stocked shelves, organize merchandise, and manage product displays.

  • POS Operations: Follow proper point-of-sale (POS) procedures for financial transactions and adhere to loss prevention policies.

  • Safety & Compliance: Use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols to maintain a secure environment for teammates and customers.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Age: Must be at least 16 years old to apply.

  • Physicality: Ability to lift, load, and deliver heavy automotive merchandise.

  • Availability: Flexible schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and potential overtime.

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred)

  • Language Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.

  • Background: Previous experience in automotive retail or basic knowledge of vehicle parts.

  • Certifications: ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certification.
