Job Summary: Store Assistant

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Store Assistant to join the team at Aston & Fincher, an industry leader in the hair and beauty sector with over 65 years of experience. In this role, you will be the face of our Luton branch, assisting customers with their beauty product needs, maintaining an immaculate store appearance, and supporting our daily operations to drive sales growth. Key Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Welcome and engage customers, identify their needs, and provide expert guidance on product features and benefits to maximize sales.

• Operations & Sales: Utilize our point-of-sale system to process transactions, invoice orders, and manage customer inquiries via phone and in-person.

• Inventory Management: Oversee the full stock lifecycle—including receiving deliveries, counting inventory, restocking shelves, and managing inter-store stock transfers.

• Order Fulfillment: Accurately pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for dispatch, including delivering items to local salons when required.

• Visual Merchandising: Maintain outstanding store conditions and follow company guidelines for visual merchandising to ensure a clean, presentable, and inviting environment.

• Compliance: Adhere to all company policies, health and safety procedures, and maintain a secure environment for colleagues and patrons.

Requirements

• Experience: Proven experience in a retail environment as a Store Assistant.

• Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with a friendly, confident, and engaging personality.

• Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, punctuality, and a strong customer-service mindset.

• Technical: Basic administrative skills and a solid understanding of sales principles.

Salary and Benefits

• Salary: £12.21 per hour.

• Working Hours: 36.75 hours per week (Mon–Thu: 8:15 am – 5:00 pm, Fri: 8:15 am – 1:00 pm).
