Barista / General Assistant – Kensington, West London

Job Summary

  • Position: Full-time, Permanent

  • Salary: £29,672 per annum

  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday (rotating shifts between 7:30 AM and 7:30 PM).

  • Start Date: ASAP


Key Responsibilities

  • Coffee Craftsmanship: Prepare and serve hot beverages to high standards, including dialing in grinders and adjusting espresso machines to ensure consistency.

  • Service Excellence: Create a warm, welcoming environment; set up attractive, on-brand product displays; and ensure every customer feels valued.

  • Operational Duties: Manage cash handling, daily cash-ups, and weekly banking. Assist with stock control, inventory checks, and restocking supplies.

  • Maintenance & Standards: Maintain high levels of cleanliness in all service areas, machines, and counters.

  • Compliance: Ensure all activities adhere to QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment) standards and report any equipment or safety deficiencies to management.

  • Collaboration: Support nearby units as required and contribute to a positive, team-oriented atmosphere.


Candidate Profile

  • Experience: Prior experience as a barista in a café or hospitality setting is required.

  • Skills: Strong understanding of coffee extraction and milk texturing techniques.

  • Reliability: A proactive, friendly, and professional attitude toward both customers and colleagues.

  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle basic administrative tasks effectively.
