The Pool Operator at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is a specialized technical role within Basin Glacial Waters, the resort’s brand-new Thermal Wellness Facility. Located in the heart of Banff National Park, this position is responsible for the precise mechanical and chemical management of 11 distinct bodies of water, including pools and thermal baths. You will act as a guardian of both luxury and safety, ensuring that water quality meets stringent provincial regulations and Fairmont’s elite brand standards, all while living in one of the world’s most iconic outdoor destinations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Technical Operations: Maintain and troubleshoot all spa and aquatic equipment, including pool basements and water treatment systems for 11 bodies of water.

  • Water Quality Management: Conduct daily inspections for clarity, levels, and cleanliness; perform chemical adjustments based on accurate water test readings.

  • Compliance: Maintain meticulous records of all water tests as required by Alberta provincial regulations to ensure guest safety.

  • Facility Stewardship: Execute deep-cleaning projects and daily/weekly maintenance to keep the thermal facility in “peak operating condition.

  • Inventory Control: Manage the stock of pool chemicals, testing agents, and related operational products.

  • Guest Interaction: Assist the Spa Attendant team with facility cleanliness and engage courteously with guests and members.

Candidate Requirements

  • Certification: Aquatic Facility Operator Certification Level 2 from the Alberta Association of Recreation Facility Personnel (AARFP) is required.

  • Safety: Valid First Aid and CPR certificates.

  • Background: A background in general maintenance is considered a significant asset.

  • Legal: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

  • Soft Skills: A strong sense of accountability and the ability to uphold luxury service standards in a high-pressure wellness environment.
