Core Responsibilities

  • Communications Management: Handle all internal and external telephone communication, manage shared email inboxes, and facilitate guest SMS services.

  • Guest Engagement: Provide personalized information regarding hotel amenities and Calgary events; manage guest profiles and preferences to ensure a tailored stay.

  • Pre-Arrival Experience: Perform reservation checks and set up special requests with personalized touches before guests arrive.

  • Inter-Departmental Coordination: Monitor work orders and radio calls, maintaining a beneficial working relationship between all departments to ensure service requests are fulfilled.

  • Operational Ownership: Manage wake-up calls, take ownership of guest concerns, and ensure all follow-ups meet Fairmont’s exacting luxury standards.

  • Loyalty Support: Assist the Loyalty Supervisor with administrative and operational tasks to support Fairmont’s most frequent travelers.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience: Proven background in hospitality operations; previous experience in Switchboard/PBX, Front Desk, or Royal Service is a significant asset.

  • Communication: Fluent English (written and verbal) is required; a second language is beneficial.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), and the ability to learn complex hotel operational systems.

  • Soft Skills: Ability to multitask and work calmly under pressure; a self-starting, proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Education: A degree or diploma in Hotel Management is preferred.

  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Calgary and the local community to provide expert guest recommendations.
