Job Description
Are you ready to transition from the front lines of service into a leadership role at one of Calgary’s most iconic hotel properties? The Calgary Marriott Downtown Hotel is seeking an Assistant Banquet Manager who is as passionate about the “JW Treatment” as they are about the logistics of a perfectly executed event. This is an entry-level management opportunity where your ability to lead a team is just as important as your ability to jump in and assist during a high-stakes banquet service.
In this role, you are the heartbeat of the event phase. You will work closely with Banquet Captains and service staff to ensure that every meeting planner’s vision is realized with precision. Your day will be a dynamic mix of strategic planning—such as managing liquor costs and staff schedules—and hands-on hospitality, where you’ll be on the floor interacting with guests and ensuring the buffet presentation is flawless. You are the coach who provides the feedback that turns a good team into a high-performing one.
At Marriott, we believe our greatest strength is our people. You will join a community that values your unique background and provides the tools you need to “Level Up” your career. Whether you are implementing a corrective action plan based on a recent guest survey or leading a monthly safety training, you will be doing work that has a direct impact on the hotel’s success and the city’s reputation for world-class hospitality.
If you have two years of experience in the food and beverage world and the drive to begin your management purpose with a global leader, we invite you to bring your energy to the Calgary Marriott. Help us deliver forward-thinking service and create unforgettable experiences in the heart of downtown.
