Job Overview: Visiting Family Night Childcare (Lower Manhattan)

A family visiting New York City is seeking a reliable and engaging Temporary Night Nanny to provide date-night coverage while they stay at an AirBNB in Lower Manhattan. This role is focused on managing the evening routine for two young children (an infant and a toddler) during the family’s trip from April 7th to April 11th, 2026.

This is an ideal “short-term gig” for a professional nanny or experienced babysitter who lives in or near Downtown/Financial District and enjoys working with visiting families. The parents are flexible and willing to work with multiple caregivers if a single person cannot cover all five nights.

Job Details & Responsibilities

Evening Routine Management

  • Active Play: Engage both children in age-appropriate play and activities within the AirBNB environment.

  • Mealtime: Oversee dinner service for the toddler and bottle feedings for the infant.

  • Hygiene & Bedtime: Manage the bath routine for both children and successfully transition them to bed.

  • Supervision: Maintain a safe and attentive presence once the children are asleep until the parents return.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Age-Group Experience: Proven experience caring for infants (0–11 months) and toddlers (1–3 years) simultaneously.

  • Safety: Knowledge of infant sleep safety and basic first aid is essential.

  • Reliability: Punctuality is critical as the parents will be heading out for scheduled dinner/event reservations.

  • Flexibility: While the family prefers one person for the full block (Tuesday–Saturday), they are open to split schedules.

Salary, Schedule & Benefits

  • Employer: Care.com (Visiting Family)

  • Location: Lower Manhattan, NY (Southern Manhattan/FiDi/Tribeca area)

  • Hourly Rate: $22.00 – $35.00 per hour.

  • Dates: April 7 (Tuesday) – April 11 (Saturday).

  • Daily Schedule: 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM (9-hour shifts).

  • Total Potential Earnings: For the full 5-day block (45 hours), gross earnings range from $990 to $1,575.

Why This Role?

This is a high-yield, short-term opportunity that pays a premium Manhattan rate for evening work. Because the children have no allergies or special needs, the primary focus is on maintaining a standard, healthy bedtime routine. For a caregiver with a free week in April, this is an excellent way to earn a significant amount in a single week without a long-term contract commitment.

Application Information

Interested caregivers should apply through Care.com immediately. Since the dates are specific (starting April 7th), be sure to clearly state which nights you are available and highlight your experience managing the infant/toddler “bedtime rush.”
