Unique Job Description

Experienced Part-Time Nanny | Long-Term Family Placement

About the Opportunity

The Murphy Family is looking for a dedicated, nurturing childcare professional to become a cornerstone of our household in Mahogany, Calgary. With two young children, Luka (3) and Lexie (2), our days are full of energy and discovery. As both parents lead busy professional lives—one running a real estate firm and the other working from home—we need a reliable partner who can step in and maintain a calm, supportive, and fun-filled environment for our toddlers.

We aren’t just looking for a babysitter; we are looking for an experienced nanny who wants to build a lasting relationship with our family. We value clear communication, kindness, and a proactive spirit. If you are a career caregiver looking to supplement your current schedule or find a steady, high-paying part-time role, we offer a flexible and appreciative work environment.

Your Role & Impact

Your primary mission is to foster curiosity and joy. We encourage our nanny to get the kids out of the house—whether that’s a morning at the library, an afternoon at the park, or a creative session with craft supplies at home. We fully fund all outings and materials to ensure you have the tools to create a world of play-based learning.

Daily duties include attentive supervision, preparing simple meals, and keeping the children’s spaces organized. While the focus is always on Luka and Lexie, helping with light household tasks like children’s laundry or quick kitchen tidying helps our busy home run smoothly.

Who You Are

The ideal candidate is a “toddler expert”—someone who understands the developmental needs of two- and three-year-olds and meets them with confidence and warmth. You are:

  • Active & Outdoorsy: You believe fresh air and movement are essential for happy kids.

  • Highly Organized: You take the initiative to plan the week’s activities and crafts.

  • Professional & Reliable: You treat your role with the importance it deserves, maintaining consistent communication and punctuality.

  • A Safe Driver: You are comfortable transporting the children to local play centers or appointments.

Schedule & Compensation

We offer a competitive rate of $22.00 – $32.00 per hour, depending on your depth of experience and references. We provide a flexible schedule of 10 to 25 hours per week, with typical shifts falling between 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM or 2:30 PM – 7:00 PM. We are happy to coordinate these hours around your existing commitments for the right long-term fit.
