Job Summary: Front Desk/Host

Dave & Buster’s is hiring for a Front Desk/Host position at its Colorado Springs location. In this dual-capacity role, you act as the “ambassador of fun,” serving as the first and last point of contact for guests. You are responsible for managing the flow of the building—greeting guests, coordinating table seating, selling Power Cards/merchandise, and processing transactions. This is a high-energy, fast-paced environment where multitasking and a “guest-first” attitude are essential for success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guest Ambassador: Provide a high-energy greeting and a warm farewell; proactively check on guest satisfaction and notify managers of any issues.

  • Flow Management: Monitor table turn timing, scout open tables, and rotate seating to ensure balance for the service staff.

  • Transactions & Retail: Process bill transactions accurately, sell merchandise and gift cards, and reconcile your cash bank at the end of the shift.

  • Logistics & Support: Manage waitlists, answer telephones, and ensure the front desk is fully stocked with menus, silverware, and Power Cards.

  • Facility Standards: Maintain a clean and organized host station; assist with bussing tables or processing “To Go” orders as business dictates.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Age: Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Communication: Ability to read, write, and articulate clear greetings/requests in English; skilled at calmly de-escalating dissatisfied guests.

  • Experience: Previous restaurant, retail, or cashier experience is preferred but not required.

  • Physical Demands:

    • Ability to stand or walk 100% of the shift.

    • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.

    • Comfort working in a noisy, fast-paced environment with distracting conditions (flashing lights, arcade sounds).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Rate: Compensation typically ranges from $14.42 – $16.00 per hour, with a reported salary midpoint of $15.16 – $16.66.

  • Perks:

    • FREE GAMES: One of the most popular employee benefits.

    • Insurance: Attractive medical, dental, and vision packages for eligible positions.

    • Retirement: 401(k) plans with company participation.

    • Flexibility: Schedules designed to accommodate school or second jobs.

Market & Industry Context: 2026 Hospitality Trends

The “Eatertainment” sector in 2026 continues to thrive by blending technology with physical social spaces.

  • Hybrid Service Models: As of 2026, Dave & Buster’s has integrated advanced mobile waitlist and kiosk systems. As a Host, you will likely spend more time helping guests navigate the app-based “Power Card” refills and digital reservations than traditional paper systems.

  • Local Demand: The Colorado Springs location (near the InterQuest Marketplace) serves a heavy volume of local families and tourists. Weekend peaks in 2026 often see wait times exceeding 60 minutes, making your role in “managing the flow” critical to the store’s revenue.

  • Wage Competition: The $15.16+ starting rate aligns with Colorado’s 2026 minimum wage standards, ensuring competitive entry-level pay for the Pikes Peak region.

Interview & Application Insights

  • The “Energy” Check: Dave & Buster’s hires for personality. During your interview, maintain a frequent smile and demonstrate the “enthusiasm” mentioned in the job description.

  • Multitasking Scenarios: Be prepared to explain how you would handle three things at once: a guest wanting to check in, a phone ringing, and a family asking where the restrooms are.

  • Team Synergy: Emphasize your willingness to “assist other Team Members as needed.” In a high-volume venue like D&B, being a team player who helps buss a table or grab silverware during a rush is highly valued.
