Joe Coffee is expanding its presence beyond the café walls, bringing our signature “invitational hospitality” to the most prestigious events across New York City and the surrounding areas. We are seeking Elite Event Baristas—highly skilled coffee professionals who thrive in “high-touch” environments and possess the refined hospitality skills required for fine-dining execution.

This isn’t your average barista role. From high-profile galas to intimate creative gatherings, you will be the face of Joe Coffee, delivering excellence in non-standard, dynamic locations.

The Mission: Invitational Hospitality & Excellence

Our event baristas are “stewards of the vibe.” You are expected to move beyond the counter and act as a brand ambassador who can self-manage and problem-solve on the fly.

Key Responsibilities:

Invitational Hospitality: Inspire genuine conversation, playfully represent the Joe brand, and creatively manage guest expectations with “trustworthy competence.”
Masterful Execution: Maintain impeccable espresso and drink quality in diverse settings. You must be able to pour high-level latte art and optimize bar flow in unique, non-standard circumstances.
Dynamic Priority Management: Adjust your effort to the situation, prioritizing the guest experience even when logistical challenges shift.
Team Orientation: Communicate needs clearly, offer coaching with grace, and maintain strict ownership of your scheduling and shift commitments.
Polished Presentation: Self-present in a neat, clean, and professional fashion, balancing your personal style with specific event dress codes.

What You Bring to the Team

We are looking for “coffee veterans” who possess a sense of urgency and an engaging charisma.

Hard Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of Specialty Coffee barista experience.
Certification: Valid Food Handler’s License.
Technical Savvy: Proficiency in Google Chat and other communication apps for logistics.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for ~8 hours and regularly lift/move 50-70 lbs of coffee equipment.
Resilience: Proven competence in high-volume, high-stress service environments.

Preferred Capabilities:

Logistics: 1 year of event/catering experience; experience in packing and moving gear.
Mobility: Valid driver’s license and comfort driving a cargo van through NYC streets.
Soft Skills: Bilingualism and a natural, engaging charisma.
