Job Duties

  • Manage day-to-day operations and project delivery as a senior leader within the New York tunnel ventilation team.

  • Provide technical leadership in the analysis and design of ventilation and fire life safety systems for transit, highway, and industrial facilities.

  • Direct the delivery of technical content to promote quality, excellence, and commercially successful outcomes.

  • Support revenue generation initiatives to ensure all staff members maintain established billable targets.

  • Lead and guide multidisciplinary teams on complex technical issues related to fluid flow and heat transfer.

  • Serve as a client-facing project manager responsible for oversight of project finances and commercial results.

  • Partner with business leaders across Highways, Rail, Water, and Energy sectors to advance regional growth strategies.

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities and strategic client relationships to expand Arup’s service engagement.

  • Oversee the design optimization process using 1D and 3D (CFD) numerical modelling tools.

  • Facilitate skills transfer regarding commercial project management and technical excellence to junior staff.


Requirements

  • Apply in-depth understanding of fluid flow, heat, and mass transfer governing equations to complex infrastructure projects.

  • Utilize 12 years of progressive experience in tunnel ventilation system design, commissioning, and construction services.

  • Navigate current regulatory requirements including NFPA 130 and NFPA 502 for underground spaces.

  • Operate specialized software including SES, CFD, and Parallel/Grid Computing on Windows or Linux platforms.

  • Manage project schedules and resources using standard MS Office applications, MS Project, or Primavera.

  • Execute technical leadership focused on sustainability, EDI, and Health, Safety, and Wellness.

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of OSHA safety programs and Fire and Life Safety Codes.

  • Plan, prioritize, and lead design delivery teams in a fast-paced, corporate environment.

  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders through high-level presentations and technical reports.


Qualifications

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Maintain a Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York or New Jersey.

  • Possess a track record of published work in technical journals or at industry conferences.

  • Achieve or demonstrate the capability to become an accredited Arup Project Manager.
