The Warehouse Operations Cycle
The Stocker role is the engine of our inventory flow. Because Costco moves inventory faster than almost any other retailer, the stocking process is precise.
-
Receiving: High-volume shipments arrive at the dock and are organized by department.
-
The “Morning Push”: Most heavy stocking occurs before the warehouse opens, utilizing forklifts to move full pallets.
-
Zoning & Facing: Throughout the day, Stockers “face” the merchandise—moving products to the front of the pallet to make them easily accessible.
-
Aisle Maintenance: Constant clearing of cardboard and plastic wrap to keep the high-traffic aisles safe for member carts.
Retail & Logistics Industry Data (2025-2026)
