Role Overview: Data Center Chief Engineer (AWS)
The Opportunity Step into a critical leadership role within the AWS Infrastructure Services team, where you will act as the primary architect and guardian of the physical systems powering global cloud computing. As the Chief Engineer, you are the singular focal point for facility operations, ensuring that the electrical, mechanical, and safety systems of the data center operate at peak efficiency. You will lead a diverse team of technicians and vendors, driving innovation and reliability in a culture that empowers bold ideas and ownership.
Requirements & Skills

Basic Qualifications:
-
3+ years of electrical or mechanical, or 3+ years of data center or mission critical facilities (example: hospital, military facility, public safety facility, etc.) experience.

Experience with reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.

3+ years of administrative experience including Microsoft Office products.

Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience in data center engineering.

Experience in construction or project management.

Experience leading technical teams through daily operations and maintenance evolutions.

Physical & Legal:
-
Must be able to work in an environment that involves walking, stooping, bending, and climbing to access equipment.

Regularly lift and/or move up to 39 pounds independently; participate in group lifts for 40+ pounds.

Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed.
