Logistics Specialist (Work Based Learning Program)

AWS Infrastructure Services is the backbone of the global cloud, managing the design and operation of the hardware that powers the world’s most innovative companies. We are currently seeking motivated individuals for our Work Based Learning Program (WBLP) in San Francisco. This 12-month trainee initiative offers an entry-level pathway into the world of data center logistics, providing hands-on experience in a fast-paced, inclusive environment where your contributions directly impact AWS’s ability to provide infinite capacity to our customers.

All Physical Requirements Are Expected With Reasonable Accommodations

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds

  • Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after-hours support as needed

  • Working in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environments

  • Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day

  • Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation

  • Tolerance for working in non-climate –controlled environment with temperature functions.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent diploma

  • Are 18 years of age or older

  • Willingness to participate in shift rotations to support 24/7 data center operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • STEM classes or vocational course curriculum education

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications

  • Experience with written and verbal communication and presentation

  • Knowledge of computer hardware components, operating systems and inventory management

In this role, you will be the primary steward of data center inventory, ensuring that critical components are available for essential repairs and builds. You will coordinate closely with engineering teams and external vendors to optimize the lifecycle of parts, from procurement and data entry to shipping and receiving. Successful candidates will navigate a high-volume environment across various shifts, maintaining rigorous safety standards while mastering technical competencies and logistical workflows that keep the AWS cloud running 24/7.
