About the Role As an Assistant Store Manager (ASM), you are the right hand to the Store Manager and a vital leader for the entire team. You will ensure the store remains a clean, organized, “customer-first” environment. Your role is highly dynamic—one hour you may be training a new associate or managing employee schedules, and the next you might be analyzing inventory levels or ensuring financial integrity through cash audits and bank deposits. You’ll lead by example on the sales floor, assisting with planograms and stocking while protecting company assets and maximizing profitability.


Duties and Essential Job Functions:

  • Leadership: Provide superior customer service leadership and assist with employee training, scheduling, and safety meetings.

  • Operational Management: Open and close the store (minimum 2 days/week) and manage operations in the Store Manager’s absence.

  • Merchandising: Oversee receiving, stocking, and the implementation of planograms to ensure a high-standard visual presentation.

  • Financial Integrity: Manage cashier accountability, authorize overrides, count tills, and handle bank deposits.

  • Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory through diligent management of damages, markdowns, and paperwork.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: One year of retail experience and six months of supervisory experience preferred.

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.

  • Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, problem-solving abilities, and basic math skills (including percentages).

  • Requirements: Ability to drive your own vehicle for bank deposits and management meetings.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • High Energy: Frequent walking, standing, bending, and kneeling in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strength: Regular lifting of up to 40 lbs; occasional lifting of up to 55 lbs.

  • Equipment: Frequent use of handheld scanners, box cutters, U-boats, and rolltainers.
