Job Summary: Patient Transportation Driver (Trinity Medical)

As a Patient Transportation Driver, you are more than just a driver; you are a vital link in our patients’ healthcare journey, ensuring they reach their medical appointments safely, on time, and with the utmost courtesy.
About the Role This is a high-responsibility role that blends logistics, vehicle maintenance, and compassionate patient care. You will manage a scheduled route within a 10-mile radius of our Medical Centers, coordinating directly with the Office Manager to confirm appointments and provide door-to-door assistance. From performing daily multi-point safety inspections to helping passengers secure wheelchairs and mobility devices, you are the primary guardian of our patients’ safety and comfort while they are on the road.
Key Responsibilities:

Patient Logistics: Call patients the day before to confirm appointments and 30 minutes prior to pickup; transport at least 10 patients per day.

Safety & Assistance: Assist passengers in and out of the van; secure wheelchairs and mobility devices; ensure all passengers wear seat belts.

Vehicle Care: Perform daily interior/exterior inspections (lights, tires, wipers, AC/Heat); ensure the van is fueled, cleaned weekly, and serviced every 5,000 miles.

Record Keeping: Maintain detailed logs of stops, passenger counts, mileage, and maintenance; fax logs daily and weekly to supervisors.

Professional Conduct: Exercise independent judgment in unusual situations and maintain a professional, “no food or drink” environment within the vehicle.
Skills and Specifications:

Experience: Proven experience operating large vehicles or equivalent training.

Licensing: Valid Florida Driver’s License with a clean record (max 3 points in 1 year, 6 in 2 years, or 9 in 3 years).

Age & Physicality: Must be at least 21 years old and able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam.

Compliance: Must pass initial and random drug/alcohol screenings.

Certifications: Ability to certify in CPR, First Aid, defensive driving, and special needs assistance training if required.
