About the Role As a Sales Associate, you are the primary point of contact for our customers and a vital contributor to our store’s success. Your role is dynamic and hands-on, ranging from providing a friendly greeting at the front end to maintaining an organized sales floor. You will be responsible for unloading trucks, setting up merchandise displays according to plan-o-grams, and ensuring shelves are fully stocked and faced. By balancing efficient register operations with proactive floor maintenance, you help create a seamless shopping experience for every neighbor who walks through our doors.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.

• Understanding of safety policies and practices.

• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.

• Basic mathematical skills.

• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

WORK EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

• Active Environment: Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and kneeling to manage checkout stations and stock merchandise.

• Heavy Lifting: Frequent and proper lifting of up to 40 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds.

• Equipment Use: Handling of handheld scanners, box cutters, two-wheel dollies, and U-boats (six-wheel carts).

• Pace: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with occasional exposure to outside weather conditions for sidewalk displays.
